Free Motion Machine Quilting (Virtual)

Bring your sewing machine to learn how to free motion!  This class will familiarize you with how to free motion machine quilt on your own machine.  You will discover how to drop your feed dogs, use & modify tension, thread weight, thread content, needles and movement to create your perfect inspiration!    

You will need to bring your free motion quilting foot specifically for your machine (have it fitted by our staff if needed).  In this class, you will use sample quilt sandwiches and threads provided in your kit.  This class will be conducted "virtually" by Tina who will be demonstrating and teaching remotely.  Students will attend in person in our outdoor classroom facility with an in-person classroom aid.  

Please bring your own:

- Sewing Machine (Due to COVID, we do not currently rent machines).
- Project & supplies
- Basic sewing tools:  scissors, pins, seam ripper, good quality thread and new embroidery sewing machine needles, etc.

Minimum Class Size
:  There must be at least two students signed up for the class for it to proceed.  We will let you know 24 hours in advance if we do not have enough students and will give you an opportunity to sign up for an alternative class.  

Cancellations:  You may cancel a class up to 3 days before the class begins.  However, less than 3 days will forfeit their class fee unless we can fill the spot from a waiting list, or you can send a friend.

Please arrive 45 min prior to class start time to setup yourself, your machine and purchase any supplies at a 20% discount.

Instructor: Tina Campomizzi
Instructor Bio: Tina began quilting in 1992. In 2001, she won a grant from Rivers of Steel in Pennsylvania (her home state) to work with a master quilter for one year. She has taken numerous classes, belonged to a handful of guilds, and taught in Pennsylvania, Illinois, Arizona, Vermont, Tennessee, and California. Currently not only does she teach in Santa Cruz, she also repairs and restores vintage and antique quilts under her business name, Sentimental Threads.
Price includes COVID fee but does not include $25 kit fee (which includes kit of 3 quilt sandwiches, batting, threads, needles)
