Beginning Crafting/Sewing: Retro Floral Applique Tote

Retro floral is all the rage. Apply your decorative applique stitch techniques to a colorful collection of florals to make this floral applique tote. You will learn applique - fussy cutting, fusible web application and decorative stitching - along with bag making - interfacing, lining, handles & boxed corners techniques to make this stylish and functional tote. Sew much fun to make and useful for those local farmer's markets!
Students need to bring their own machine, 80/12 machine needles, 50 wt polyester thread, scissors/rotary, pins or clips. We provide the panel, interfacing & lining fabric as part of the kit - you have a selection of panels/totes to chose from!
We recommend this class for anyone who wants to explore applique and take a next step after learning their decorative stitches! This class is intended for confident beginners, after taking Get to Know Your Sewing Machine class and Oh Sew Decorative Stitches class.
The July 31st session is an all day workshop - morning will be spent cutting & applying applique and afternoon will be spent constructing the tote. We will take a lunch break halfway through class - visit the new, local food truck next to Dig to pick up some lunch!
