Get to Know your Serger

Learn how to thread your serger while having fun in a relaxed and supportive environment.  Bring your serger, basic sewing supplies, thread, sewing machine needles, and machine instruction book.  Have fun learning from the pros!

In this 1:1 60 minute session, our goal is to show you how to thread your serger.  It's for beginners only.  We will teach you the anatomy of your machine and the "serge" stitch, as well as how to thread and basic operation of your machine.  

Please bring your own:

• Serger
• Good quality serger thread (we recommend different colors to really see how your serger works)
• Machine accessories
• Power cord
• Foot control
• Instruction Manual 
• Scissors

Please arrive 15 min prior to class start time to setup yourself, your machine and purchase any supplies at a 15% discount.  Students must also provide what type of serger machine they will be sewing on in the workshop so we can best support your needs! (You can send an email to the shop at info@santacruzvacnsew.com or submit it at the time of order.). 

Please bring a machine to class that has been recently serviced or is in good working order.  Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to trouble-shoot or repair machines during class.  If we determine your machine is not working or cannot be used in class, we will either excuse you or offer you one of our machine rentals.  

Minimum Class Size:  There must be at least two students signed up for the class for it to proceed.  We will let you know 24 hours in advance if we do not have enough students and will give you an opportunity to sign up for an alternative class.   

You may cancel class up to 24 hrs in advance of your class start time; after which you will forfeit your class fee unless we can fill your spot from the waiting list, or you can send a friend.  We appreciate your understanding on this - as a small business, we are fortunate enough to have only the best instructors and they need to be paid  All cancellations must be received in writing, info@santacruzvacnsew.com.  Sorry, no exceptions.
