Intermediate Quilting: Pineapple Block

The Pineapple quilt block is a variation of the Log Cabin block, but with eight “logs” or strips around a center square instead of four.  This is the foundation for paper piecing!

The Pineapple variation of the Log Cabin quilt is thought to be related to eighteenth-century symbolism, in which pineapples represented hospitality. This Pennsylvania quilt, pieced of gold, red, green, and earth-brown cotton, is one of the more literal representations of the pineapple theme.

In the class you will learn how to and construct one Pineapple block.  Students can take this technique home to construct a multi-block creation, wall hanging or quilt.  Template and kit will be provided!

Minimum Class Size:  We reserve the right to cancel class if there is less than two students signed up for the class.  We will let you know 24 hours in advance if we do not have enough students and will give you an opportunity to sign up for an alternative class.
