Beginning Sewing: Rope Basket Bag
Learn to craft a simple clothline into a colorful market basket or beach tote. Class will cover construction technique & embellishment. This is a project based class intended for the confident beginner!
Please bring your own:
- Sewing Machine or rent from us for an additional $35 (please call in advance to reserve). You will need a walking foot and zig zag foot for this project to sew through the rope. If you don't have one, you can purchase one from us at a 15% discount!- Basic sewing tools: scissors, pins, seam ripper, 5 spools of good quality polyester thread (50 wt recommended), extra filled bobbins and 80/12 sewing machine needles
- 1 Fat Quarter for Handle Cover.
Minimum Class Size: We reserve the right to cancel class if there is less than two students signed up for the class. We will let you know 24 hours in advance if we do not have enough students and will give you an opportunity to sign up for an alternative class.
You may cancel class up to 24 hrs in advance of your class start time; after which you will forfeit your class fee unless we can fill your spot from the waiting list, or you can send a friend. We appreciate your understanding on this - as a small business, we are fortunate enough to have only the best instructors and they need to be paid! | Instructor Bio: | Virginia is an award winning master quilter and longarm quilter, but also enjoys making rope baskets, tote bags, and crafts. She holds a BS in Design from Woodbury University and has been sewing since age nine! |
