Intermediate Quilting: Pineapple Block Pillow

The Pineapple quilt block is a variation of the Log Cabin block, but with eight “logs” or strips around a center square instead of four. This is the foundation for paper piecing!
The Pineapple variation of the Log Cabin quilt is thought to be related to eighteenth-century symbolism, in which pineapples represented hospitality. This Pennsylvania quilt, pieced of gold, red, green, and earth-brown cotton, is one of the more literal representations of the pineapple theme.
In the class you will learn how to and construct one Pineapple block. Students will make the block as a pillow face, along with pillow backing. Theycan take this technique home to construct a multi-block creation, wall hanging or quilt. Template and kit will be provided!
