Please bring your own:
- Loaded bobbins in neutral gray or off white or matching thread.
- Your favorite Olfa cutter with extra blade, scissors, seam ripper and 6x24, 6x6 or 6x12” rulers with a 45 degree angle
- Pins (we recommend flat flower head or quilt pins) and Pin cushion
We will be referencing the Easy Stack Quilts, by Paula Doyle, C&T Publishing,Inc., 2018.
Kathy will work with you on yardage and panels refering to the kaleidoscope stack n whack chart using the half square triangle magic, both main fabric A and B (background fabrics) specifications.
In choosing A, the main fabric, look for fabric that has pizzaz, color, variety, large prints.
Look carefully at the chart to see how much you will need of the A fabric which depends on the width of your fabric repeat and an optional background block fabric B to construct the blocks. Your guide is the chart in the book depending on which pattern you’ve chosen.

Instructor: | Kathy Rickabaugh |
Instructor Bio: | Kathy loves quilts. Since the early 80’s she has been taking Quilt classes, making and showing her quilts at PIQF and PVQA quilt exhibits. Her love for art and love of teaching is expressed in every aspect of her life. Her ancestors before her have passed down the love of sewing and quilting. The generations of quilters in her family have given her the desire to learn more about ways to keep these collections (treasures) preserved for future generations to enjoy. Teaching others to make and finish quilts is natural for Kathy. Her experience as a mother, crafts teacher, quilting teacher, and elementary school teacher give her the zeal for teaching quilting classes. Working together with other women from the community she helped to organize the sewing of over 40 quilts to send to the Katrina Rescue effort and more to missions organizations. |
