Beginning Quilting - Holiday Placemat Binding & Quilting

Learn the basics of quilting of binding & quilting while constructing these simple St Patty's and Easter Day inspired placemats!  Learn how to make the perfect binding!  Experiment with fusible fleece for quick & easy quilting.  Play with variegated threads to make a truly unique quilting design! 



Learn with our expert quilt maker staff making these fun placemats! We will highlight fun & great looking quilting & binding techniques!  You will sew and have fun!  These placemats are simple but functional! Learn some techniques & features of your machine applied to construction techniques for quilting projects. Chose from our Valentine’s, Spring, Easter and St Patty’s Day placemat kits that include batting, backing and thread to make your creations!

Students must have completed New Users/ Get to Know Your Sewing Machine Class or have a basic understanding/mastery of their machine to take this class.  

Students must purchase a placemat kit at a 15% discount.

Please bring your own:

- Sewing Machine (or rent from us for $35).
- Basic sewing tools:  rotary, scissors, pins, seam ripper
-  Students will need to purchase a kit for the class project which includes fabrics needed for project creation.   Additional supplies can be purchased at a 15% discount.

Minimum Class Size:  We reserve the right to cancel class if less than two students have signed up for the class.  We will let you know 24 hours in advance if we do not have enough students and will give you an opportunity to sign up for an alternative class.  This class is for intended for 18 years or older; please contact the shop if you'd like an exception. 

You may cancel class up to 24 hrs in advance of your class start time; after which you will forfeit your class fee unless we can fill your spot from the waiting list, or you can send a friend.  We appreciate your understanding on this - as a small business, we are fortunate enough to have only the best instructors and they need to be paid  All cancellations must be received in writing, info@santacruzvacnsew.com.  Sorry, no exceptions.
