Sashiko Stitching



Sashiko is a form of Japanese stitch work that is similar to hand quilting. It's an ancient artform in Japan and is all the rage for hand stitching in the US!  Join Phoebe to learn this ancient technique and relax while you do it! 



Class fee includes sashiko panel, needle & thread. 

Minimum Class Size:  There must be at least two people signed up for the class for it to proceed.  We will let you know 24 hours in advance if we do not have enough people and will give you an opportunity to sign up for an alternative class.  This class is for intended for 18 years or older; please contact the shop if you'd like an exception. 


You may cancel class up to 24 hrs in advance of your class start time; after which you will forfeit your class fee unless we can fill your spot from the waiting list, or you can send a friend.  We appreciate your understanding on this - as a small business, we are fortunate enough to have only the best instructors and they need to be paid  All cancellations must be received in writing, info@santacruzvacnsew.com.  Sorry, no exceptions.

Instructor: Phoebe North
Instructor Bio: Phoebe is a lifelong sewer who has been sewing for 30 years, and quilting for 25 years. She has experience with garment sewing, and alterations, but her passion is quilting. Phoebe is interested in keeping the art of quilting alive by researching old patterns and resurrecting them using modern fabrics and techniques.
