Intermediate Quilting - The Japanese Collector Quilt
Cherish the "sakura snow" (Japanese cherry blossoms) with the exclusive class event @ Santa Cruz Vac & Sew! This class will make the Collector quilt by Robin Pickens to highlight & showcase exclusive hand imported Japanese prints hand procured and imported from Japan. Learn how to fussy cut prints and arrange them in a visually appealing way.
The class includes your choice of Japanese imported prints and your choice of our amazing basics that can be used to customize your design and make it pop!
This is a 6 series class with time between each session whereby students are assigned homework to complete that session's block/assignment for assembly.
Please bring your own:
- Basic sewing tools: scissors, pins, seam ripper, good quality thread and 70/10 sewing machine needles etc.)
- Kit (your choice of hand imported Japanese fabric & pattern to make the quilt face measuring 67 1/2" by 65") is included as part of class fee, unless you are signed up as one of your complimentary classes with sewing machine purchase. In this case, you will need to purchase a kit at a 15% discount. Additional kits and supplies can be purchased at a 15% discount.
Minimum Class Size: We reserve the right to cancel class if there is less than two students signed up for the class. We will let you know 24 hours in advance if we do not have enough students and will give you an opportunity to sign up for an alternative class. This class is for intended for 18 years or older; please contact the shop if you'd like an exception.
You may cancel class up to 24 hrs in advance of your class start time; after which you will forfeit your class fee unless we can fill your spot from the waiting list, or you can send a friend. We appreciate your understanding on this - as a small business, we are fortunate enough to have only the best instructors and they need to be paid! All cancellations must be received in writing, info@santacruzvacnsew.com. Sorry, no exceptions.

| Instructor Bio: | Phoebe is a lifelong sewer who has been sewing for 30 years, and quilting for 25 years. She has experience with garment sewing, and alterations, but her passion is quilting. Phoebe is interested in keeping the art of quilting alive by researching old patterns and resurrecting them using modern fabrics and techniques. |
