Intro to Machine Embroidery Winter Session
The world of embroidery is exciting but also overwhelming. Which thread should I use? What's a stabilizer? What type should I use for my project? Tear -away or water soluble? Wet N Gone or Mesh? Do I need a certain kind of needle to make my project? Do I need a certain kind of thread? Can I use a lighter bobbin thread when embroidering? What foot should I use? How can I save my design? All of these questions tend to be daunting when starting a machine embroidery project. Take the mystery out of it all with this lecture, demo and hands-on class, that is perfectly suited for beginner students wanting to enter the world of embroidery.
In this lecture/demo, we will take the mystery out of machine embroidery by sharing our knowledge & expertise on the different types of stabilizers and their application. You will learn all about the different types of stabilizers (fusible, non-fusible, soluble toppers, etc) and we will share the best types for different embroidery applications. We will discuss needles and embroidery threads, as well as trouble-shooting.
We will help you thread your machine, select and even download & save different designs for your machine and setup your embroidery project for success! Please note in order to work with our staff on downloading & saving embroidery designs, your machine must be equipped with a USB drive.
This class will mainly benefit beginners but can be taken by nearly everyone - from true beginners to intermediate to advanced sewers looking to take better advantage of embroidery capabilities on their machines!
This is a lecture/demonstration/hands-on class, so attendees should bring a machine and provide the make/model of their machine prior to class so we can best prepare & support you!
Minimum Class Size: There must be at least two students signed up for the class for it to proceed. We will let you know 24 hours in advance if we do not have enough students and will give you an opportunity to sign up for an alternative class.
You may cancel class up to 24 hrs in advance of your class start time; after which you will forfeit your class fee unless we can fill your spot from the waiting list, or you can send a friend. We appreciate your understanding on this - as a small business, we are fortunate enough to have only the best instructors and they need to be paid All cancellations must be received in writing, info@santacruzvacnsew.com.
