Young Sewing Enthusiast (10 - 18 years of age)

Kids & Youth, 10 -18 yrs will learn the basics of how to use a sewing machine & various sewing techniques while making their own sewing projects.  Each month we feature a different project, skills and inspiration!  Students can expect to finish their project in class, while learning the basics of sewing and how to operate a sewing machine. Class fee includes all project supplies and the use of one of our sewing machines!  

In August, we will be patchwork drawstring bags. Students will learn basic quilting patchwork, making casing & drawstrings and bag making skills. 



The project for September is the Call Me Bag! Students will learn bag making skills including putting in zippers & fancy material like netting. while making tote to carry their phones or small items.



In October, we will be making stuffed pumpkins for Halloween!  Students will learn the basics of making stuffed animals, including sewing on curves and stuffing techniques.  



In November we will be making holiday themed mug rugs!  These adorable creations are perfect to protect your tables from hot beverages like hot cocoa & bowls of soup and are adorable to look at!  We will be doing applique to make Rudolph’s face and backing it with retro Rudolph the Reindeer backing!  They will also learn basic quilting techniques like working with batting and piecing.  Students can purchase additional kits at a 15% discount - they make fabulous gifts!


Have your child learn fantastic life skills and break away from their devices for a couple of hours!  All of our students love this class and walk away inspired & excited to sew again.  Price includes class fee and fabric/notions to make projects.  We make a different project each month, inspiring new ideas and techniques!  Students must use shop provided machine.

Minimum Class Size:  There must be at least two students signed up for the class for it to proceed.  We will let you know 24 hours in advance if we do not have enough students and will give you an opportunity to sign up for an alternative class.  Parents must sign a waiver and provide an emergency contact before the beginning of class.  

You may cancel class up to 24 hrs in advance of your class start time; after which you will forfeit your class fee unless we can fill your spot from the waiting list, or you can send a friend.  We appreciate your understanding on this - as a small business, we are fortunate enough to have only the best instructors and they need to be paid  All cancellations must be received in writing, info@santacruzvacnsew.com.  Sorry, no exceptions.
