All About Zippers Winter Session
Zippers are so versatile, yet intimidating! What are they used for? Why are different types used? What are the best techniques & tools to sew in different types of zippers? Can you help with my project to sew in a zipper? These are all commonly asked questions we receive at the shop-- why not have us teach you? This class is just that! It's a lecture, followed by hands-on tutorial and workshop.
In this class we will take the mystery out of zippers and give you the skills and tools to apply and sew with ease and confidence both craft and garment applications. You will receive tips and tricks to sew the perfect zipper, each time you sew them!
This class is designed for everyone - from confident beginners to intermediate sewers looking to learn some great tips and tricks for sewing zippers. Bring your project and we will work together to sew. Learn to sew a zipper for all types of garment & crafts so you can get started making your own hand bags, clothes, costumes, and more. Lecture followed by a hands-on workshop. Bring a zipper or buy one (& fabric) from the shop to practice skills and tools to sew with ease and confidence. We will put in a zipper together!
The lecture is followed by a hands-on workshop where we will work together on a project of choice or purchased zipper from the shop (at a 15% discount). There is no project for this class - students bring their own! Other supplies needed for class:
- Sewing Machine & Zipper foot (if you don't know what this or need one, please stop by the shop for consultation and receive a 15% discount to purchase)
- Zipper & 2 Fat Quarters and/or Project that you want to sew in a zipper
- Wonder Clips or Pins
- Fabric shears or Rotary
- Sewing Gauge
- Fabric marker or chalk
Minimum Class Size: We reserve the right to cancel class if there is less than two students signed up. We will let you know 24 hours in advance if we do not have enough students and will give you an opportunity to sign up for an alternative class.
You may cancel class up to 24 hrs in advance of your class start time; after which you will forfeit your class fee unless we can fill your spot from the waiting list, or you can send a friend.
