Beginning Quilting Paper Piecing Quilt Block
Have you always wanted to learn how to paper piece but have always been too intimidated to try? We have the class for you! In this class you will design & construct a colorful quilt block using a “Cake Mix” paper template from Moda. This method uses a paper recipe template to quickly and accurately piece your quilt blocks. In this class, you will also explore overall quilt design and block layout. Choose from a selection of block layouts and colorful prints/basics.
Virginia will step you through the basics and work with you to construct a paper pieced block. You can expect to finish one or more blocks, to learn technique and apply to future projects. Additional Cake Mix notepads & Layer Cakes can be purchased at a 15% discount.
In the class you will need to bring your sewing machine, rotary/scissors, needles & pins, 70/10 sewing needles). We provide your choice of Cake Mix templates (2) and cake tile fabrics (2 10” pieces of fabric, print & blender).
Students must have completed New Users/ Get to Know Your Sewing Machine Class or have a basic understanding/mastery of their machine to take this class.
Minimum Class Size: We reserve the right to cancel class if there are less than two students signed up for the class. We will let you know 24 hours in advance if we do not have enough students and will give you an opportunity to sign up for an alternative class. This class is for intended for 18 years or older; please contact the shop if you'd like an exception.
You may cancel class up to 24 hrs in advance of your class start time; after which you will forfeit your class fee unless we can fill your spot from the waiting list, or you can send a friend.
