Beginning Crafting/Sewing - Ocean Creature Plushie
Everyone loves the ocean! Take some of the Santa Cruz Ocean home by making one of our ocean creature plushies: whale, Narwhal or octopus! All three creatures are quirky adorable and easy to make. 
They look awesome in any color and makes a great present for those hard-to-buy-for people. These are a great beginner plushie craft project. Students can expect to finish the project in class and learn the foundations of making of plushies - sewing with curves & dimensionality, making pleats, and stuffing best practices.
Please bring your own:
- Sewing Machine or rent from us for an additional $35 (please call in advance to reserve)- Basic sewing tools: scissors, pins, seam ripper, good quality thread and 70/10 sewing machine needles etc.)
- Walking foot if you plan to sew Minky or heavier fabrics. Let us sell & fit your machine for one.
- Kit (pattern with fabric) is included as part of class fee, unless you are signed up as one of your complimentary classes with sewing machine purchase. In this case, you will need to purchase the pattern at a 15% discount. Additional supplies & fabric can be purchased at a 15% discount. Let us help you design your plushie & chose fabrics that express your inner ocean and also make it easier to sew.
Students must have completed New Users/Get to Know Your Sewing Machine Class or have a solid understanding/mastery of their machine and basic sewing concepts to take this class.
Minimum Class Size: We reserve the right to cancel class if there is less than two students signed up for the class. We will let you know 24 hours in advance if we do not have enough students and will give you an opportunity to sign up for an alternative class. This class is for intended for 18 years or older; please contact the shop if you'd like an exception.
You may cancel class up to 24 hrs in advance of your class start time; after which you will forfeit your class fee unless we can fill your spot from the waiting list, or you can send a friend. We appreciate your understanding on this - as a small business, we are fortunate enough to have only the best instructors and they need to be paid! All cancellations must be received in writing, info@santacruzvacnsew.com. Sorry, no exceptions.
