Beginning Crafting/Sewing: Design Your Own Tote

Explore embroidery & applique embroidery design to design your own tote! In this class you will make an embroidery design, or select from any of our applique designs/bring your own to design the front pocket of your tote. Personalize your tote using your machine’s monogramming capabilities! Pick from our extensive selection of canvas & cotton wovens & strappings to make the body and handles of the bag. The possibilities (and creative inspiration) are endless!
We will discuss & apply embroidery/machine applique embroidery to make your design, including tools, techniques & tips. You will learn techniques to make the perfect tote, including boxed corners, interfacing & linings and application of handles. Access our experts to get the most out of your machine’s embroidery and monogramming capabilities. Sew much fun to make and useful for those Fall farmer's markets and gifts for the holidays!
Students need to bring their own machine, 80/12 machine needles, 50 wt polyester thread, scissors/rotary, pins or clips. Students must purchase a kit which will include one yard canvas & cotton woven, your choice of interfacing/stabilizer (wae will recommend based on how stiff your want your tote and type of embroidery/applique you chose) and 1 1/2 yards strapping.

Students must have completed New Sewing Machine Owners Class or have a solid understanding/mastery of their machine and basic sewing concepts to take this class. They must bring their own machine to class to utilize their own embroidery/monogramming capabilities.
Minimum Class Size: There must be at least two people signed up for the class for it to proceed. We will let you know 24 hours in advance if we do not have enough people and will give you an opportunity to sign up for an alternative class.
You may cancel class up to 24 hrs in advance of your class start time; after which you will forfeit your class fee unless we can fill your spot from the waiting list, or you can send a friend.
