Beginning Garment Sewing Ilford Jacket

You need a lightweight jacket for those chilly Santa Cruz nights!  Learn the basics of jacket making - how to set a collar & sleeves, different types of pockets as well as buttonhole/jacket closures. This versatile pattern is easy to make and super functional for all body types and genders!  Learn about all different types of pockets.



Please bring your own:

• Good quality 50 weight polyester thread.  80/12 or 90/14 needles.   
• Pins & Wonder Clips. 
• Walking Foot (we recommend using canvas or one of our Linen Mochi fabrics!)

Class fee includes a kit, which includes the Ilford  pattern and student's choice of our Cotton / Linen Mochi canvas and interfacing. Students must have a good working knowledge of their machine/serger or have taken the New User/Get to Know Your Sewing Machine and have a basic understanding of reading a pattern.

Minimum Class Size:  We reserve the right to cancel class if there is less than two students signed up for the class.  We will let you know 24 hours in advance if we do not have enough students and will give you an opportunity to sign up for an alternative class. This class is for intended for 18 years or older; please contact the shop if you'd like an exception.    

You may cancel class up to 24 hrs in advance of your class start time; after which you will forfeit your class fee unless we can fill your spot from the waiting list, or you can send a friend.  We appreciate your understanding on this - as a small business, we are fortunate enough to have only the best instructors and they need to be paid  All cancellations must be received in writing, info@santacruzvacnsew.com.  Sorry, no exceptions.
