Valentine's Postcard

Use scraps to make Valentines postcards! These are small art quilts perfect for framing and gift giving. Sara will teach you a quick and wonderful way to play with fabric and make use of your favorite scraps. The use of a fusible base layer allows for unlimited creativity! In this class you will learn about design work, simple free motion quilting and thread painting. This is an all day workshop and we will have cookies & hot chocolate in the afternoon to keep our energy up and enjoy the holiday spirit!
For class you will need to purchase or bring:
- Students also need to bring or rent a machine, as well as sewing supplies (rotary/scissors, pins, thread, etc.). Your machine must have the ability to lower the feed dogs for free motion quilting and thread play.
- Basic sewing tools: scissors, pins, seam ripper, good quality thread and 70/10 sewing machine needles etc.)
- Students must purchase a $15 kit that includes stabilizer and pre cut scraps, etc.
All additional fabric & supplies can be purchased at a 15% discount.
Minimum Class Size: There must be at least two students signed up for the class for it to proceed. We will let you know 24 hours in advance if we do not have enough students and will give you an opportunity to sign up for an alternative class. This class is for intended for 18 years or older; please contact the shop if you'd like an exception.
You may cancel class up to 24 hrs in advance of your class start time; after which you will forfeit your class fee unless we can fill your spot from the waiting list, or you can send a friend. | Instructor Bio: | Sara has been in involved with textiles since she was a teenager. First a hand weaver, then a production Knitwear designer and since 2005, a quilter. She has won many awards for her quilts around the Bay Area and runs a successful long-arm business. |
