Sewing Machine Maintenance
Want to extend the life of your machine? Want your machine to stay in ship shape in between professional service? At Santa Cruz Vac & Sew, we advocate that regular sewing machine maintenance matters! We know first hand that it extends the life your machine, creates better stitches and reduces frustration by having fewer performance issues. In this hands-on workshop, you will join our experts to learn how to perform basic maintenance on your machine and do the following:
- Familiarize yourself with the anatomy of your machine: needle bar, feed dog, bobbin case, tension discs, handwheel)
- Cleaning lint/dust from the needle area, around the bobbin case and feed dogs
- Proper lubrication
- Needle/bobbin replacement
- Tension Adjustment
- Bulb replacement
- Recommended Tools
This class is intended for all general purpose sewing machines. This class is not intended for Machine Embroidery or Serger machines. It is also not intended to replace a professional sewing machine tune-up which we recommend once per year if you use your machine frequently or every couple of years if you don’t use your machine on a regular basis.
For class, you will need to bring your own machine with foot pedal & power supply, manual (if you have it) and any tool accessories that came with your machine (screwdriver, lint brush, needles & bobbins).
You may cancel or reschedule class up to 24 hrs in advance of your class start time; after which you will forfeit your class fee. As a courtesy, we provide one reschedule of class; after which you must re-enroll We appreciate your understanding on this - as a small business, we are fortunate enough to have only the best instructors and they need to be paid! All cancellations must be called in or received in writing, info@santacruzvacnsew.com. Sorry, no exceptions.
