Beginning Garment Sewing with Knits: Hudson Jogger

What’s life without a pair of sweatpants! Make this updated take on the classic sweatpant.  It has front pockets, an elastic waist, drawstring, and cuffs at the bottom.  The modern fit of these pants leaves a bit of extra room around the hips and then tapers into a skinny leg. Learn how to sew “in the round” to apply waistbands and cuffs.  This is a great class as a followup to All About Knits or to gain more experience on your serger - the pant can be made entirely on your serger!



Please bring your own:

• Sewing Machine, Serger, Cover Stitch (we have one for rent if you need it)
• Good quality and new serger or sewing machine thread.  We recommend using a poly thread and Maxi-Lock serger thread.  80/12 Jersey Ball Point needles.   
• Pins & Wonder Clips. 
• Walking & overcast feet (for conventional sewing machine owners)

Class fee includes pattern and kit, student's choice of our French Terry or Sweatshirt knits & fleeces, using our pure fiber fabrics!  Students must have a good working knowledge of their machine/serger or have taken the New User/Get to Know Your Sewing Machine/Mastering Your Serger class.  

Please bring a machine to class that has been recently serviced or is in good working order.  Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to trouble-shoot or repair sergers during class.  If we determine your machine is not working or cannot be used in class, we will either excuse you or offer you one of our machine rentals.  

Minimum Class Size:  We reserve the right to cancel class if there is less than two students signed up for the class.  We will let you know 24 hours in advance if we do not have enough students and will give you an opportunity to sign up for an alternative class. This class is for intended for 18 years or older; please contact the shop if you'd like an exception.    

You may cancel class up to 24 hrs in advance of your class start time; after which you will forfeit your class fee unless we can fill your spot from the waiting list, or you can send a friend.  We appreciate your understanding on this - as a small business, we are fortunate enough to have only the best instructors and they need to be paid  All cancellations must be received in writing, info@santacruzvacnsew.com.  Sorry, no exceptions.
