It’s monogramming 101!

In this class you will learn and apply techniques to create your own personalized writing on your creations!  Learn from the experts to make your own monogrammed creations.  We will talk through and apply best practices on a creation of your choice while exploring the different monogramming features & capabilities of your machine., as well as required tools & techniques  This course requires a sewing or embroidery machine that can do monogramming that it’s in good working order.



In this class, we will assess the creation you want to make, then identify the appropriate stabilizer (tear-away, cut-away, water-soluble based on fabric type as well as toppers to create raised effects), recommended threads and needles to use to create the optimal effect.   We will then setup & design your monogram on your machine, exploring your machine’s capabilities & different font types, learning about navigation, selecting fonts & feet, desired stitch length & width, programming letters and adjusting letter size/spacing.  We will then show you finishing methods to remove stabilizer and clean-up your threads.  Bring in your own creation or desired fabric you want to monogram on!   

Students must bring their own machine (with monogramming capabilities), embroidery sewing machine needles, creation/fabric for monogramming, small pair of embroidery scissors, fusible interfacing and stabilizer to class.  Students can purchase a $15 kit with 2 embroidery machine needles, your choice of Floriani thread and 1 yard of stabilizer/topper/interfacing. 

Minimum Class Size:  We reserve the right to cancel this class if there are less than two students signed up for the class.  We will let you know 24 hours in advance if we do not have enough students and will give you an opportunity to sign up for an alternative class.
