Free Event: Oh Sew Decorative Stitches!
Always wanted to use the fancy decorative stitches on your machine but were too afraid to try? Join us for a FREE event to watch the experts make creations special and give them extra flair with decorative stitches. They will demonstrate decorative machine sewing stitches to create polished embellishment stitches. In this demonstration event we will:
- Give an overview of different types of typical decorative stitches on most sewing machines - florals, scallops, geometrics, antique and quilting.
- Discuss tools & techniques for proper stitching: the use of interfacing/stabilizer, sewing machine needles and thread.
- Review machine settings & optimization - stitch selection, adjusting width, length & tension settings and proper foot selection (walking, monogramming and open toe applique)
- Marking, alignment and guided techniques to align stitches with fabric edges or markings.
- Specialty stitches: couching, double needles and applique
- Trouble shooting & best practices
This is a demonstration event only. Do not bring your machine to the event; our shop experts will be demonstrating on shop machines. Take the class for a hands-on workshop to explore on your machine!
