Beginning Quilting - Baby Quilt

Everyone wants to make a baby quilt! It’s what we think of when we think of quilts! But it’s hard to find one that isn’t too “cutesy” or complicated.  We have the answer to your needs! This Santa Cruz Vac & Sew exclusive design is easy to make, playful and colorful! You will make a crib sized quilt face in class, size 34” x 43 1/2”. Take our Quilt Finishing Class to quilt or bind!


In this class you will learn the basics of 1/4” seams, making half square triangles, mastering many of your favorite quilting tools like clips & marking devices and using our design boards to create your design.

For class please bring your sewing machine, new 70/10 needles, rotary/scissors, pins/clips.  The class fee includes your choice of Baby Quilt designs in a variety of different colorways from Santa Cruz Vac & Sew procured collections.  We will show you recommended techniques for all your quilting tools, as well as optimal half square triangle placemat using small scale prints & color variations.  

Minimum Class Size:  We reserve the right to cancel class if there are less than two people signed up for the class.  We will let you know 24 hours in advance if we do not have enough people and will give you an opportunity to sign up for an alternative class.  This class is for intended for 18 years or older; please contact the shop if you'd like an exception. 

You may cancel class up to 24 hrs in advance of your class start time; after which you will forfeit your class fee unless we can fill your spot from the waiting list, or you can send a friend.  We appreciate your understanding on this - as a small business, we are fortunate enough to have only the best instructors and they need to be paid  All cancellations must be received in writing, info@santacruzvacnsew.com.  Sorry, no exceptions.
